Does anyone know what year they switched from the spoked rear wheels to the cast iron type? Are the spoked rear wheels and cast iron type interchangable and did the spoked wheels ever come on the WD (or will they fit)?

WC are 5-bolt wheels, WD are 6-bolt wheels. They do not interchange. All WD wheels are power-adjustable, not like the WC. WC came in spoke and solid wheel, 24 inch and 28 inch.

my service manual states that at serial number 81757 (1939) they changed from 11.25 x24 rubber to 11 x 28 inch rubber. Not sure if they will iinterchange with a WD, it won't hurt to try if you have them available

Thanks. I have seen several late 30's WC with the cast iron wheels, so I guess they are interchangable on the WC.

Early un-styled "Hi-Crop" Wc's used cast center 36" wheels just the same as later styled "Hi-Crops. This was first use of cast wheel centers w/ detachable rims on a WC. Pressed steel 24",24' spokers,& cast center 28s will all interchange.

Today's Featured Article - George's Fordson Major - by Anthony West (UK). This is a bit of a technical info to add on to the article about George's Major in the "A Towny Goes Plowing" article. George bought his Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for 200.00. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken by Harold alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that the major was produced late 19 ... [Read Article]
