Howdy guys. Had a tractor question and thought I would start here. I operate a small but growing Christmas tree operation in Indiana. I am considering expanding my mowing equipment and am thinking about a small tractor like an allis B, farmall cub, etc basically a small tractor with wide front that would be good with a belly or rear finish mower. Want to keep the tractor small so I can plant the tree rows as close as possible to keep my number of trees per acre ( and profit ) as high as I can. Want the mower to just cover the tracks of the tractor, maybe 5 foot? What do you think a good setup would be? Other tractors that may be good? Economy? Have a WD, but she is just too big to be practical for this. Anybody in West-central Indiana have a B set up like this that I could look at or maybe even test drive? Not to buy, just check out. Thanks.

The B would be a good one, as would a C/CA; you might even consider one of the IH offset tractors(Super A, 100, 130, 140).

I use a CA with a 6' mower.Use a woods and it finish cuts better than my over priced JD mower. I found after looking for a long time that the AC is a lot cheaper.

Restoration Story: 1951 Farmall H - by The Red (John Fritz). I have been a collector of Farmall tractors since 1990 when I first obtained part of the family farm in Eastern Indiana. My current collection includes a 1938 F20, 1945 H, 1946 H, and the recently purchased 1951 H. This article will focus on what I encountered and what I did to bring the 1951 NEAR DEATH Farmall H back to life.
