Have a 1952 AC WD purchased new by a relative in 1952. Has seen considerable use for skidding logs and snow removal, but mechanically in good/fair shape. The PTO is used for running a seperate hydraulic system to operate a New Idea loader. Would like to install a 3 point hitch and run a Bush Hog off the PTO, move the loader hydraulic pump so it's run off the front of the crank shaft.
Is this feasible, or should I be looking for a different tractor to run a Bush Hog? Thanks in advance.

I made a WD reversed loader many years ago and used two different front mounted pump setups. You could also replace the single groove pulley with double groove (as found on WD with factory power steering). If you weld a stub shaft on the single groove pulley, and machine it down for a lovejoy coupler, you can mount a small pump. However, the second setup I made was better. I extended the frame by welding on more channel iron, moving the steering box ahead about 8 inches. Steering box was bolted to existing front rail holes, and additional holes drilled in the frame extension. That gives additional room for mounting a front pump, because space is limited in the original version. Some also mount the pump in front of the steering box, with the drive shaft going through the box where the handcrank shaft is now.

Yes, but the crankshaft runs about 3 times faster than the PTO. You might meed a different pump. Higher speed, less volume. The PTO is about 540 rpm, the engine up to about 1600.
