i found a man who is willing to trade me his wd it has a 3 pt hitch and electric start he says it smokes alot because the return line coming from the valves is plugged so the oil can run back down i checked the oil and its low is this problem easy to fix on a wd i want to trade him my 1939 ac model b crank start anh hand brakes is it worth it and i know my b has 12 horses but how many horsepower does a wd have and are they dependable and solid thank for yalls time.

what should the pounds of compression be in wd engine? "to test if i buy it if the rings need replacing" thanks again.

could it just be that the holes in the valve block could be clogged from dibrey and the oil can run down threw so it has to go though the valves eventualy and therfore makes it smoke or the rings might need to be replaced and the valves be rebuilt? thanks for your input.

This is a darn good and reliable tractor but it would seem this one needs an engine overhaul. There is no oil return line, as previously stated it returns to the crankcase by gravity from the valves.

I think the engine needs more than unplugging the oil line. That oil line is the supply line to the rocker arms, the return is through the lifter/pushrod space on the side of the engine. In other words the oil returns by gravity through the engine.
