Thinking of buying a WC like we had way back when. Notice on some pictures that on the upper right corner of the radiator shell there is a hole. Seem to remember that ours had a temperature gage mounted there. Am I dreaming? Was it a factory installation or an add on? Ours was a 39 or 40 model. Thanks for the help.

The hole is for the shutter control- the temp gage mounts in the hole in the top center of the hood.

I believe the hole is for the control lever for shutters. They were used to contol the temperature of the water on tractors that used distillate fuel. The temperature gauge mounts in the center of the hood just behind the radiator cap. this was a factory installed option.
