I just got a Allis 210 tractor, it starts and runs fine but has a lot of blow-by out of the draft tube under the engine. the last owner and the owner before him both say not to worry about it, just run it. I have been a auto mechanic all my life and it seems like way too much to me. Any comments would be appreciated. THANKS!!!!

Its compression going past the rings. If its not burning any oil to amount to run it. Now if it was steam then you have a problem as orings on bottom of sleeves are leaking.

From what I've seen this is pretty normal. Our 190XT and our neighbor's 200 both have more coming out of this tube than I would think appropriate, but they've been running and doing this every since we bought them - and that's 20 to 25 years of work ranging from heavy disking and chisel plowing to baling hay and mowing pastures. Run it right on unless you have an oil consumption problem.
