I have a D17 that had a allied loader mounted on it & a front pump installed to run the hydraulics. the drive broke coming out of the front of the crankshaft I have a feeling that maybe this was not the original "set up" for this tractor. does anyone know where I can find parts and info about this front mounted hydraulic pump? thank you for any info

My D-17 has the front pump mount, not an AC hydralic pump though forgot the brand, seems like it was a name I have seen used on aircraft.

If I remember right there is a splined fitting that is bolted to the front crank pulley, female part, then a splined shaft fits inside the fitting, on the pump end it actually has a sprocket on it that has a keyway with set screws to hold it in place and the pump also has a sprocket on it. On the two sprockets you put a double roller chain to couple the pump drive shaft to the pump. If yours is similar I would expect you can have someone at a machine shop make you up a new shaft with the splines on the one end and keyway on the other, assuming that is whats broke.
Good luck

Don't know about the Allied setup, but I think series 2 and 3 D17 had a front crankshaft pulley that was tapped for mounting the AC pump shaft that mounted in front of the steering housing. If yours used the same pulley, you may be able to disassemble enough to get to the pulley and retap if damaged, or switch pumps.
