I bought a new Stant thermostat for my WD45. It came with an adaptor and a big rubber washer. What do I do with those ?
The original thermostat looks much bigger and longer. The new one looks the same as a Chevy. It is OK to use this or do I need to try to get the real thing from AGCO ?

Farmer,
I bought a thermo from Agco for my B and to my surprise it's the same one that you have! When I opened the box I was expecting to see the large thermo, but it's like you said, "looks like a Chevy"..... . I have a bunch of them. If I knew that, could've save myself a couple bucks. Oh well, should work, mine does.

The rubber washer fits in back of the thermostat against the casting. And the thermostat fits inside that extra ring you get. Take the old one out and it kind of makes sense. I just replaced mine and I wondered about it till I got it apart. Hope this helps. Harold

Thanks. I haven't taken it apart, yet so hopefully it will make more sense when I see it, like you say.
Have you had any trouble with overheating ? The new one looks so small i wonder if will pass enough coolant to keep cool.

No, mine runs about 180 to 190. Maybe yours is alittle out of time. Harold

Mine, doesn't heat up either, but I haven't put in the new thermostat yet. I was just concerned that it is too small and will restrict the flow.
