Stuck Throttle

When I was mowing with my Allis Chalmers Model C using a bushhog, the engine begain to race and I could not throttle down. The throttle linkage goes from the throttle control to a rod that goes into a unit at the right front of the tractor, which appears to be frozen in place, the linkage then goes onto the carburetor. I need to know what is required to fix this problem. Thanks

That's the governor assembly that your throttle rod connects to. I'd bet you had a weight in the governor bind or drop off, or perhaps a spring (on the outside) dropped off or broke. You can fix it - just takes some patience and a parts diagram to show you what goes where. I have one for the 125 cubic inch B engine that may be similar to the one on your C - link below.
