I just finished looking at a WD45. Had a wide front end, tires were OK. Sheet metal was very good, paint fair/bad, little rust. Missing most of the snap coupler and had some type of homemade 3pt hitch. Could not tell if the hydrolics worked well because it leaked fluid so bad from one of the hoses that there was no presure to lift the arms. Did start very easy, seemed to run OK, but died after shortly thereafter. I think this is a choke problem. It was missing the rod to start it with (are these easy to get?). Also sounded as if the manfold needed to be replaced. The trans shifted well and seemed solid. Seemed to run stong-I was spinning wheels in 3rd gear taking off(felt like a kid again;))
Bet your waiting for a question. The guy was asking $2000.00 for this unit; is this a fair price. I live in the southwest part of TN, north of Memphis. Know very little about AC's. My son has expressed and interest in participating in the local tractor pull and it has come to a decision between a WD/WD45 and farmall m.

$1200 to $1600 here in SC - WD45's aren't as plentiful as they are in other states. (On the other hand we seem to have a large number of B's and C's ...!). I rarely see a running WD45 sell for less than $1200 down here, although I have seen a few offered for $2000 to $2400. If you paid $1500 for a tractor of that condition in SC you wouldn't be hurt .... I can't say for your area, though.

I would also pass on it. In SE Minnesota, A good usable WD45 would bring 900 to 1200 at auction, pending on the paint and appearance.

I just bought a WD45 with a blown head gasket and a popped out freeze plug for 500 and it has a WFE and a loader....I would pass on it... for 2000 I would be hard pressed not to sell you mine heheheheh.....Jim

scott, i live in central Illinois. A WD45 in the condition you described would bring about half what hes asking. You can get a 45 for $800-1200 around here. $1200 would buy a good looking decent tractor.

In East TN you can find a 45 for 1200 to 1500 he's asking to much
