D17 Diesel that stalls

I have a D17 I think it is a 1962 Diesel. I am having trouble getting it to start after sitting. I have to remove the fuel filters prime it and crack the injector lines until fuel come out. At that point it starts and runs fine until park over night again. Any help ?

Try putting on a electric fuel pump.

What pressure should I run it at ? I have one here and the regulator to keep Presure down

I don't know a lot about diesel engines but we had one with a electric pump on it that ran at 6 to 10 psi (case) my guess would be that there is a slight leak in the line from tank to pump, letting it lose the fuel from the line. Hope this helps Gordon-(TN)

You have fuel pressure leaking back into the tank.
I would put a inline check valve in the fuel line
close to the injector pump, that should solve the
problem. Check valve in the pump itself must have
gone bad.
