I have a 1957 D-17 with a narrow front end. I would like to now if there is a way to remove some of the play in the front end? Did the d-17 of those years come with a three point hitch? If they did were can i get parts at?
I would like to restore this tractor and the slop in the front end is the one thing holding me back.
Thanks again
John

The D17 has a splined coupling inside the pedestal. This can wear and cause the slop. You will have to get an after market three point hitch.

Dont know about the D17. but my WD narrow front had problems, especially on hard surfaced roads- front wheels wobbled. Problem was a large bearing at the bottom of the spindle/ The rollers in the tapered bearing had cup-shaped wear, allowing the spindle to oscillate side to side.

If you figure out the front end let me know because I am a D17 with the same problem.
