I am looking at a AC-C that has been converted to 12 volt. The present owner has not put on a alternator because he hasn't found one that would fit behind the steering column.

Does anyone know of, and/or how to obtain a alternator that will fit behind the steering column on this tractor?

any help is greatly appreciated.

Frank

I am assuming you are trying to mount where the generator was and you are worried about the steering arm to the front end. I have see several C tractors with the Delco 10SI alternator mounded, so there must be room, but probably a little tight. YOu can get the delco at Auto Zone for $35. from a 1975 chevy truck. The newer Delco from the late 1980's and some of the japanees alternators are a little smaller, but cost 3 times a much. I bet the Delco would fit, if you worked at it a little.
