My neighbor has a 190XT that he wants to sell, he just had it overhauled and had the injection pump rebuilt It was running good when he was baling hay for me but then it started blowing black smoke and now we can't get it started. We checked the air intake and everything seems ok. I would'nt mind buying it cause the price is right but not if I have to put alot of money into it. Any Ideas on what could be wrong. Thanks in Advance.

Check and make sure return line back to tank is not plugged. There is a valve in the top of the pump where the return line hooks up that has a glass ball that sometimes sticks. It will take a 1/2 or 9/16 wrench to take it out. Take it out and see if it starts and runs. Take line off going to hand primer pump from fuel tank and see if yo have a good supply of fuel. One or both sediment bowls cold be full of water or debris or the stems in tank partily plugged.

Turbo could have gone out, injection pump could have dropped some, or the injectors could have problems. Something happened to drop your power (indicated by the black smoke) a great deal.
