I was wondering if a A-C model 2800 or 2900 diesel engine (as found in a 190xt or 185) will fit in a D19.

My brothers put a 190XT motor (301 diesel) on our D19 about 10 years ago. The block bolts up, but it takes a lot of modifying to get everything else right. The engine itself is a little longer which means the front steering frame(and sheetmetal) has to be extended. We finally put a 190 wide front on the tractor. The injection pump is on the opposite side of the motor, so the tach drive is reversed. The hydraulic pump systems are a little different, my brother kept the D19 internal hydraulic pump and added the 190 hyd. pump which required some plumbing changes. The water inlet/outlet is different which means modifying the radiator, water pump outlet,etc. The air intake systems are different, so they made a new glow plug housing. Now that the motor is dependable, we love the tractor because the power director can be eased into gear (its mainly used as a loader tractor). But its too much work to do this, you're better off buying a 190XT at todays prices.
