If any of you have received your old allis news lately, it showed a WD45lpg with a propane tank where the gas tank would normally be with a small 1 gallon gas tank mounted on the side. The owner says that was the factory setup and that the setup with the lpg tank in front of the radiator with the regular gas tank where is always was is a dealer conversion. I have always thought the reverse and the AC parts manual shows the latter (which I always assumed to be the factory) but it does not show anything of the former. So does anyone know for sure which is the factory setup? Just curious. michael

Michael, I've been told that the factory put the LPG tank on the front and the gasoline tank in the normal place. My understanding is that it was supplied with a dual fuel Ensign carb(LPG and gasoline). Working on one now. The previous owner called the other day and had found some things that went with the tractor. I was hoping it was the orginal carb but it was the orginal vaporizer and the snap-coupler draw bar. This WD-45 had a cast iron valve cover and an Ensign carb that had been primed an olive color under the orange. On the top of the carbs mating surface to the manifold it was stamped MG1. Don't know if the stamping is Ensign's or military or what. Got some parts from Mr. Norm and he said the tractor would be worth more with the LPG tank on the front but he didn't say whether it was original or not. I missed one (WD-45)a while back with the LPG tank where the gasoline normaly is. Wife wouldn't let me try to trade on Sunday. I've got my propane man on the look out for me. Sorry for rambling, post if you find out. P.S. Sure would like to have a dual fuel Ensign carb. Dale
