My WD-45 diesel has developed a intermittent miss in what sounds like one cylinder. It usually clears up under heavy load but while pulling my fertilizer spreader it drags one cylinder and I get white smoke. Injector maybe? Any ideas would be welcome. Thanks Pat.

I have the same problem with a WD45D. It was just rebuilt with new pistons, valves, etc. Pump and injectors rebuilt. Lots of white smoke and misses on #3, then under a gentle load will clear up. The heavier the load the better. Have also cleaned the air cells in the head. Switched the injector, but the problem stays with #3 cyl. I am still stumped.??? Hopefully someone really smart will solve this. Also seen this in Olivers with this style injection in the head.

Yesterday I noticed fuel dripping from the fuel line from the seperator to the transfer pump. What I found was a support bracket had worn a hole in the line. Is the transfer pump sucking air in at higher fuel rates and causing low fuel pressure? I bought a new fuel line and will let you know if this cures the problem. PK

No I'm not loosing antifreez. It smells like fuel also. I don't know how many hours this engine has on it, could be the injectors need cleaning.

Kelly,Marv - Is the white smoke you are observing coolant? If so, either the head gasket or head is leaking and allowing antifreeze into the cylinder. Tom
