The oil seal for the belt pully (on the clutch
housing) has a national number 53452.The local bearing shop cant cross the number. Any idea of
a good number would help.
Thanks
Ted

The A-C part # is 208417 which I cross referenced to National #450452. I couldn't find a cross to a Chicago-Rawhide number. How valid the Nat'l. number is I don't know since I'm working with a 1973 interchange book. Just maybe your auto parts store can come up with something from their Nat'l. list, even if the number has been updated since '73? Seems like the 452 is the key. Hope this helps.

I recently rebuilt a belt pulley and it cost me $7.00 for a seal that was ordered from the CR book. The total cost was $51.78 for the bearings and seal. If you have trouble finding the parts, you might find a implement dealer who has 760 massy fergeson combines. The bearings are the same as the header drive on the combines. You could also order the bearings from shoup.

Do you mean the seal where the belt pully seals into the casting, where it passes through the frame rail? I bought a length of seal from McMaster Carr for this, it was something like !7/32x 17/32" and while not as wide as the original, with the split at the top it is working. Have quite a bit left, anyone need some?

I found the cork gasket (The clutch housing
and frame rail) at AGCO in stock $7.00. The
length of gasket from Mcmaster is a great idea.
But I was impatient.Im looking for the oil seal
for the belt pully shaft.I now have the
dimentions so Ill see what I find today and
request a bearing and seal master catalog from the dist.
Thanks for all of the input.
Ted

Oops, should have read yer post more carefully. I assumed you were looking for the shaft seal, not the housing seal.

Your bearing shop should have a copy of CR's master catalog. Take the seal, shaft and seal retainer to them so they can measure and look up the correct seal. If they don't have the means to do this for you get me some measurments (caliper needed) and I will look up the number in my catalog. AGCO will have the seal too but watch the prices. I needed the bull pinion-brake shaft seals for a WC and AGCO was $75 each, bearing shop was $4.50
