help.. Hay guys I overhauled my allis chalmers g with a A N 62 engine. Put in a rebuilt oil pump. seem to have an air block won't pick up and pump the oil. Anyone got a thought as to where I went wrong? Can I put in extra oil and flood the system. Do you think that would help?

i had a friend do the same thing about 10 years ago. Seem that it turned out that he had the oil pick-up to the pump put in upside down or backwards. Something like that. May want to check your work. Good Lu

Did you prime the pump? (put it in oil & turn the pump until oil comes out of discharge side) if so, the pump can be packed with petrolum jelly
to get it to pickup the oil CAUTION-- IF IT HAS A OIL FILTER, AS SOON AS IT GETS OIL PRESSURE TURN THE ENGINE OFF, CHANGE OIL FILTER, THE JELLY WILL CAUSE THE FILTER TO COME APART & PLUG OIL PASSAGES, HOPE THIS HELPS

already have engine back in tractor any other way to get jelly into pump? We wonder if we put a fitting on where the oil presure gadge goes and pump with greese gun (jelly) up into pump? Or do you know any other way besides taking engine back out.
