I've had the Marvel Schebler Carb on my wd overhauled because it often dripped when I shut off the motor. It still does it sometimes. What can be done?

I agree with Brian. Trash, especially rust, either in the tank or the carb, should be the first thing you look for in flooding or starving.

when you clean your carb take the seat out where the needle goes. there is a good possibility that rust has collected on top of that seat. I had to rebuild my marvel carb yesterday and it looked clean until i took the seat out. I found alot of rust and after I blew the line out it worked fine. hope this helps

The gas is coming past the needle and seat. Check the float level and make sure its correct, you should have gotten a guage with your kit I think its 1/4 inch. Make sure your fuel system is clean. No sediment floating around. Make sure you have a screen in the sedimemt bowl. If you have a solid steel needle you might want to get one this neoprene. Make sure that seat is screwed securely into the base.

Could be that the float is out of adjustment. The literature with the rebuild kit should explain how to measure for the proper clearance, and how to bend the mounting to achieve that measurement.

And just a tiny bit of rust in the gas tank will find its way through the screen or strainer ancd cause this repeatedly. I had this problem until I installed an in-line fuel filter. I cleaned the carb and have had no problems since.
