Do your trctor a favor and change the hydraulic oil, (the dipstick you found), the transmission and rear end oil, (3 drain plugs under the tractor, one is the PTO if you have one, one is under the rear end area, and one is in the sheet metal plate under the transmission. There is two fill plugs on the left side of the tractor, look and you will see them. And don't for get the final drives. Take the pans off each side and clean them out.You can fill them almost full, put them on, or fill them with the filler/level plug on the side of the pan. Many don't ever change the final drives and they can be pretty bad. With the wheels off or in a wide position they are easy to get to.

i agree with Tom, drain and refill. I like the new trans-hydraulic fluid for the transmission-pto case and 90 wt gear lube in the final drive boxes.you can get both at farm center, or WalMart.
