I recntly was looking at an Allis "B" chalmers machine nice price, good tin 50% tires, 3 point hitch sold the day before. One thing I noticed was the the clutch peddle would not return unless someone reached down with there hand and gave it some encouragement. The spring that is on the torque tube was intact and seemed fairly strong.

Check the pivot for the pedal. Other wise it is in the torque tube. Be sure you have greased the throw-out bearing as it slides on a tube in the bell housing. This sounds like the most likely the problem . The grease fitting is up through the hole in the bottom of the bell housing under the clutch.

My guess would be the throw-out bearing needed greasing. That would put some grease on the shaft it slides on too.Just a thought. Dale
