Let me get it right this time..AC 816 backhoe/loader, any opinions?

I am going to check out an 816 backhoe loader with the 4 cylinder perkins engine, supposedly around a 1979. I have looked through the archives and found almost no reference to this machine. Anyone here have any experience with them, good or bad, or what I should look for? Is there any way to ID the year by serial number or other method? The machine sounds like it is in good shape and is priced at $6500. It has a shuttle shift transmission.

Bought the 816 backhoe, turned out to be in excellent condition and just what I was looking for. Does anyone know where I can read up on these machines to get some ID info, such as how to tell what year it is? I was suprised to find no info in the archives at all, is this machine too "new" for this site?
