Just looked at an allis chalmers 200. The guy said that it jumps out of 5th%6th gears but other than that, it is great. It fired right up, didn't smoke, had great/almost new tires and had been rebuilt 5 yrs ago. He wants 4500 for it. Is this reasonable? It has been barn kept. Everything elsse seemed to work fine. Does anyone know how much horsepower they have? thanks

The price seems in the ballpark, although jumping out of 5th/6th will be an aggravation since you'll do most of your work in those gears (5.0 and 6.3 mph at 2200 rpm if I remember correctly). Good tractor, never tested at Nebraska - AC used the 190XT hp ratings of 93 hp since the 200 was a 190XT with upgraded cooling, 3ph geometry, oil filtration, etc. Several nice upgrades from the 190XT but still had the dry brakes. The dealer that sold my neighbor his back in 1976 (used) said it was around a 105 hp tractor. Pulls very nicely.

Most 200's around here are running 110 to 120 hp. Jumpimg out out 5th & 6th will require tractor to be split and rear end tore completly down if you choose to fix. An average cost of gears and couplers are $450 each new. It will take about 25 hours to repair. Prices here average between $3000 to $5000.
