Iam looking for a mid size tractor to do some plowing, and general work around the farm. I was considering a 190 Allis and a JD 4020. Which is the best choice? I love AC but I've heard the 4020 is one of the best machines ever built.

Mike, I too like AC and the 190, but choice would be the 4020.

I strongly agree, you'd have to be "loco" to have a 190. The 4020 can run circles around a 190 for plowing, not to mention reliability.

Try an 806 It will pull them both to the junkyard.

Yeah, an 806 might pull a 4020 to a junkyard but it's so clumsy in comparison it could never catch a 4020

An AC 185 should be better than both and costs about the same as 4020's

Stay away from the 190xt when they boosted the hp from the 190 the block became vulnerable to stress cracks over time. My uncle was an ac mechanic.
