I just purchased a 1941 AC model B. It has a belly mower on it now and it came with a single land plow. The belly mower has a hydrolic piston under the tractor. There is not any hydrolic pistons on the back of the tractor to lift the plow. Would it be the same piston? If not, is there anyone out there that would have a picture of how the hydrolic lift for the plow looks and works. I would appreciate any info on this. thanks.

I can tell you this much, I took a belly mower off my B (Sun Master, Olathe Kansas) and put the cylinder on the back lift. If your cylinder is original AC it should work. The original cylinder is a very narrow profile, only about 1 1/2" in diameter. There were also a variety of back lift configurations available that depend on the original implementation for the tractor from the factory.

Hi Herb,

Do you know if the plow you have is an Allis one or one made by WIARD Plow Co.? The reason I ask is the 2-way plows I have for my '42 B are WIARD and not Allis. They mount entirely differently. If you have an Allis plow that was intended for the B it should look like the ones here, including that portion of the lifting mechanism shown attached behind the seat.

I don't know about the hyd cyl possibly being the same...both my belly mower and my plows are manual hand lift. However, if you have the mechanism shown for the Allis plows, I can help you out with a diagram of how everything hooks up, including the hyd cyl for the non-manual lift. Let me know.

I have a single bottom plow, like the one shown to the right in this picture. In addition to the two solid links attaching the plow to the lift, there is a third adjustable link? The top half of mine is missing. What does this link do?

I had to take off the two solid links and replace them with chains, because the solid links kept twisting off. Would the third link prevent this?
