We have a CA Allis that the gear shift will come up out of the shifting forks when you change gears. Can anyone tell me how to cure this problem.

I don't know about a CA, but I know how to fix the problem on a WD. Since no one else is responding I'll offer the WD fix and hope it is the same for a CA.
Can you move the gear shift up and down in neutral ? If so, you need to add a shim washer under the snap ring that holds the shift lever (ball) in the case or replace the cup shaped hold down bushing if you can find a good one.
If there is no vertical play, then you probably need to build up the flat ball shaped end that engages the forks. I have done this by brazing, too. AGCO has new shift levers for WD's. I don't know about for CA's
Good luck.
