Hydraulic oil leak at PTO shaft

I noticed today on my '49 B that there is a slow leak of oil at the PTO shaft when PTO is engaged. Leaks enough to drip about every 20 seconds. The oil is getting past the seal where the shaft comes out, I could see it. Anything I should be aware of before I open it up would be appreciated. Thanks

buy a new seal and put it in from the outsdie. dont need to open anything up. only problem will be if the shaft is scored in the seal area. if so, hold the seal out 1/16 inch insstead of bottoming it in the hole. i use RTV on the Outside of seal to hold the seal tight.
