My hydrolics were not working. When I checked the fluid, it looked like gear oil in it. Should there be? Does the hydrolic system use the gear oil from the rear hub, or do I have real trouble? Any help would be appreciated. Pfeatherbed@aol.com

there are three drain plugs. one under the transmission, one under the differential, and one under the pto- hydraulic case. they are 1/2 inch pipe plugs. all three are conected on the inside. you need to pull all three and drain. add new oil by your left foot in the 1 inch plug on the transmission case. you then add in about 2 gallons of trans-hydraulic fluid. it is 20 wt oil. you can get it at Wal-Mart. gear lube is too thick for the hydraulics. if you had no hydraulics it could be o.k. for the transmission- differential only.
