I have a leaking oil seal between the transmission housing and one of the rear axle assemblies. Everything else seems fine (brakes, final drive, wheel, etc.). Is there anything special to know regarding removing and replacing the axle? It appears to be a simple matter of supporting the axle housing and removing 4 nuts, and pulling the housing/axle out. I just wonder if there are any tricks to getting it back together.

you got the right idea. just make sure the back end is blocked up good, and the front axle is wedged so the axle can not pivot and roll the tractor off your rear blocks.

Sorry Chuck! I thought I was on the Tractor talk page! I didn't have any special problems getting mine back together.
