Hey everyone. There's a D17 coming up at a local farm auction that sells with the following AC implements: bush hog, disc, 3 btm plow. The auction listing doesn't include any notes on the general condition, hours, etc. of the tractor or implements and I won't be able to preview it until the day of the sale.

I don't have any experience with AC's and was wondering what general advice ya'll could give me about D17's. I'm looking for a good all-around tractor for working 20 or so acres of row crops, hay and pasture. Also need to do the usual livestock chores of hauling/spreading manure, etc. Is the D17 the right size tractor for a smalltimer like me? If so, what price ranges would ya'll suggest for a running D17 in reasonably good mechanical condition? How about the implements ... what are they worth? Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks in advance for your help.

Here in WI a good solid D17 usually sells for around $3500 at an auction, more or less depending apon condition. As for the attachments, usually $200-$400. I can't imagine a better tractor than the D17 for a small farm.
