Thinking seriously of buying one of these with 6300 hours on meter. Has power director tranny system. I am real interested in hearing about the pro's & con's of this unit along with any comments or items that I should be aware of and/or be on the lookout for. All comments will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks to "jeff" and "Bob(Mo)" for the info. From what you both have said, I think I will take a real good look at it. Thanks again for the information, it was really appreciated.

7040 allis had an engine life of about 6 to 7000 hrs before engines needed work . the best way to see how the engine is to see how much blow buy when hot under load . the next thing to do if it runs good drop the oil pan and check all the brg. you can insert new ones from the bottom and get another 3000 hrs from this engine.

Hi, I have owned a 7040 powershift for about 6 yrs. Its a real Horse! They tell me the powershift is bullet proof,I haven't had any problems with mine. It also has about 6000hrs on it and runs great,it also starts good in cold weather!I would recommend it for anybody looking for horsepower. The only thing I don't like is the fact it likes fuel.
