My Grandparents are looking to sell a tractor they were given and they asked me to look into the value of the vehicle.

It's an Allis Chalmers 1946 "type M", International Harvester, which works and looks in fair condition to us.

They live in Oregon and I would like to get what a reasonable "range" might be. They're selling off their house and possessions and I don't want them to be swindled.

Please write if you either have an idea of value range, or let me know of any helpful websites (I've looked for some and not found this tractor listed).

Thanks so much,
Gavin

It's not an Allis Chalmers if it says International. Sounds like you have a farmall model M. Value is anywhere from a couple of hundred bucks for a parts tractor up to about $2500 for one in real good running condition.

Take a look over in the tractor photos @ left of this board-look under Allis Chalmers & Farmall & International. Find one that looks like it & then try the right board w/as much information as you can find out about the tractor-running or not, does the engine turn over, paint condition & color, # of cylinders, hand or foot clutch, serial #, what do the tires look like, hows the sheet metal, etc. You'll get a better response.(My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
