Did Allis make a little brother combine to the model 60? I remember as a kid our neighbor had a little one that took one row of beans, and he pulled it with a model C Allis tractor. This would have been in the mid 50's. I havn't seen one since. Was I seeing things? Harold

These are a neat little machine. I posted a picture of one that sold last summer in NY state in the Photo Gallery a while ago. I have one I am restoring to use with a "B". They are scarce as only 15,000 or so were made over 3 years ('38 to '40) with most made in 1940. Parts service was discontinued in 1963, so finding pieces is a challenge. Anybody know of any carcasses out there? Some components were shared with the early forage harvesters.....

Yes they made a model 40 that was sized for B and C power but they didn't look like a downsized 60. They looked like a downsized model 25 John Deere. The model 25 John Deere was built using Allis patents for the model 40, or so I have been told.

Yes, model 40. My dad started farming with one of these and a WC in the 30's. Our neighbor had one on his farm sale. 3 foot cut if I remember right. Straight through flow design, not 90 degree turn like the 60. Cute little thing.
