I know where I can purchase a wd45 diesel in northern Wisconson. The guy wants $1000 for it. It isnt running and its block is cracked in a couple spots, but I found out I can have it fixed. Overall, the tractor is in good shape. I would really like that particular tractor back because it used to be my Grandfathers. Is it worth it, or should I just try to find one thats running and pay a little more. Any input would be great! thanks

A friend of mine bought a WD-45 diesel and the block is cracked and cannot be repaired. Can anyone tell me where to start looking for a different block?

As far as I'm concerned, Sentimental value is worth more than dollar value.. I am still looking for an old Allis my Dad sold. Still, the $1k does not seem too bad. One can spend a fortune to get it back to perfection if thats what you want. Or you can spend just enough to get it running and in good shape. Even it you Nickel & dime it ever other week. If it was ME, (and I can only speak for myself), I would get it, once it's gone you may regret it.

And if he won't take the 800 , well try 9 and if you have to go the grand. You won't regret it if you want the tractor. And I don't blame you for wanting it. I am spending more than a WD is worth to get one back in shape. Used to run a 45 when I was a kid and it is so much fun to be working on that tractor again.
