i just bought a wd allis chalmer that has a tricycle type front end. does anybody know if there is a kit, or where i could get a salvage to make it in to a wide type front end. thanks

Wish you wanted a wide front for a CA or B or C. I have a good adjustable wide front off a 49 B that I am sure would fit a CA.
Just a comment on your post above. You should still consider him a friend of the family. If that WD starts every time and looks reasonable, you didn't get hurt. I paid $1600 for a 55 WD45 (with wide front) in '96. He was a friend also. I also traded (back in 93) a new 286 computer for a 51 WD. I was in the computer business at the time and I could have gotten $1200 for the computer elsewhere. Of course, I didn't have that much in parts though.
