When I start the tractor it smokes white smoke and sparys black watery stuff out of the exhaust. I just put the head back on after giving it a valve job and the motor looked good. I also rebuilt the carb. How do I know which rotor cup goes on the exhaust one has springs and the other doesn't. Thanks for the help! Now if only I could find someone to tell me how to fix my wife!

Rob,
If you are refering to the roto-caps, they go on the exhaust valves. The plain retainers go on the intake valves. AC Puller is correct about the coolant leaking and comeing out of the exhaust.

Obviously you have some kind of coolant leak. Could be cracked head, bad head gasket, or cracked cylinder. Take the spark plugs out and see if any have coolant on them ( you should have if its spitting out that much on start up ). That should give you some idea which cylinder to start looking at.
