I just picked up a WD 45 S/N WD2605 for $100. I am new to the Allis line and don't know to much about them. Was this tractor equipped with a 6 volt system? Is the system negative or positive ground?Lastly, the PTO drive gear at the bottom of the transmission is stripped, and the whole PTO assy is missing. Anyone know of a good source for AC parts?

Get the PTO box for the WD-45, it is stronger..

To bring a WD up to the power of a 45, you will need a WD-45 crank and pistons...maybe a "Gas Manifold".. The WD was a full 3-14" tractor.... I would pull ALL the PTO gears, and have them Magnafluxed to be SURE none are bad...!!!! Have the PTO box magnafluxed, too...

From the number you have a WD, about 8 less hp and 1/2" less stroke. Sliding gear trnasmission instead of constant mesh. Still a good tractor though. From the no it would be about a 48 year, and they were 6 volt pos ground. For parts try Sandy Lake Implement.

forgot to say, get yourself a owners manual and repair manual from King's Books PO box 86 Radnor , Ohio 43066-0086 No phone. You need operators manual no AC 16 and service manual no. AC 34. They are $5.95 and 12.95, are reprints of AC manuals, and will tell you a lot you want to know. Oh, shipping is $2 per order. Good luck with your WD, I am working on one myself, it sat out for 25 yrs and is in need of a lot of love and attention and $.

Yes it is a WD, after some more reading on this site, it is definately a WD. But it has some nice WD 45 "stickers" on it, go fiqure. Well can't complain much for $100. Thanks for the responce, I appreciate it. I think I will be here with a lot more questions in the very near future.

Stickers don't mean much, I could put 45 stickers on a farmall cub, wouldn't make it a 45 though.
