Will E-3 engine fit in a WD or WD-45

I have been told that the e-3 combine engine will bolt right in a d-17, I'd like to know if it will fit in a Wd or Wd-45. If so, this would be a economical way to get this one going. Thanks a lot, Willie

My father put an e motor in his 56 wd-45.I'll ask him the low down and get back to you.

Willie,

If the motor in the E3 is the same as the older E then it will bolt in.You will need to change the front crank pulley back to the wd-45.The E/D-17 motor has a different set-up for the water hoses so the pulley needs to be changed.You will need to drill a hole in the pulley so it can be locked on the crank.Afew oil lines will need to be moved where the steering rod passes the motor.(My fathers has power steering)Put a plate over the fuel pump hole.The backing plate will bolt up.I'm sure there are some small things that will need to be done but thats what he told me he did.
