If you live in my area ( Central Md ) you need to mortgage the farm to get anthng done at a radiator shop , even then their too lazy to actualy do a repair , they usually want to charge twice the price of a replacement radiator to recore you old radiator.

I had a problem rust problem with my G tank several years ago. It kept clogging the fuel line, no matter what I did. I tried all the tricks (acid, gravel..,) but I needed to mow so I took it to a welding shop and had the inlet and outlet placed on a new cylinder for about the same price the radiator shop wanted. $100 or so, as I remember. I thin put a vinyl coating in it.

I regret it. The tank works fine, but it is not the same as the original.

Take it to the radiator shop and have them remove the rust, etch it, and apply the vinyl coating.

Some radiator shops repair fuel tanks. If the tank isn't to awful bad, a good radiator man may be able to repair it for you. My B tank was "peppered" a little on the bottom and my radiator man repaired it, then coated the inside with a two part process he use's for repairing tanks. It came out great! Also, you can get a fuel tank repair kit from a local Napa store if you have one close by and repair it yourself....

You don't say how bad itis. If it is rusty inside you can put some garvel in it and turn it over and over, sometimes by tying it to the rear wheel of the tractor until it is clean inside. there is a coating you can apply to the inside of a tank cleaned like this that will seal small leaks. Don't know off hand what it is but someone will. Eastwood Co has it I think.
