I have a 1953 Allis "wd" and I use it strickly for pulling. And I would like to know if the crank in a WD45 would fit in my "U" block from my "WD". No one wants to give me a straight answer.

There are two WD45 cranks, one early and the other late. The early one uses the same timing gear on its nose as the WC and WD. The bore on this gear is 1 and 1/2 inch. The later WD45 crank has a thicker nose and uses a timing gear more commonly found on a D17. The bore on this gear is 1 and 5/8 inch. Either crank fits your WD. But be sure to get the corresponding timing gear with it when you buy. Both gears work with the timing gear on your WD camshaft. Hooray for Allis interchangeability!
