I've come across a real find and the price seems more than reasonable. The seller says it's either an AC B or C. How can I tell for sure?

Serial numbers for "B" and "C" is stamped
on transmission just ahead of shifter lever.
"B" serial starts with a B , "C" serial starts with a C .Most "C" were either narrow front or adjustable front axle . "C" rear axle hubbs are longer on a "C". (more space between the rear tire and fender ) plus there are 2 threaded holes in this casting for attaching implement brackets.
"C" rear wheel rims attach to axle with 6 or 8 bolts , "B" rear rim attaches with one large nut in centre of rim.
Hope this helps.

On our first cosmetic restoration, not having a manual, we carefully marked the wires, taped the magneto in the position it came off, and were careful not to turn the engine over while we had these components off. We thought we could get by with this since the engine ran perfectly and would not need any internal work. After the cleanup and painting was done, we began reassembly and finally came to t ...
