In looking through a couple AC manuals and I've noticed a couple different tail lights are shown. I need help in determining which is correct (or better yet if I have the right tail light!). The Model C operators manual I have has a couple photos of the cylinder shaped tail light (red and clear lense) mounted on a C. However, the Model B/IB/C parts manual seems to indicate the bullet shaped light (red lense only) is the correct one. The two manuals seem to contradict each other! What's right the answer? Thanks for the help guys!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the info. I have the cylinder shaped light with clear and red lenses. However, I purchased the light last year (off a gentleman I met here). My tractor was missing the original seat assembly as well as all the lights and a few other misc parts. To make things worse, it appears the transmission was replaced at some point as the tractor serial number was manually stamped (2 different sized number stamps were used)and the impression is pratically unreadable. So, I'm kinda stumped as to exactly what year this thing is, but I suspect it is from approximately 1947 based on what the numbers appear to read.

Thanks again for the info.

Dana,
I have a 48'"B" with the round red tail light & clear side lens that I know is original. The fellow around the corner has a 50' "C" with the same lamp. That one still has the original wire going to it and it's pretty rusty & kinda mashed. The owner said that's what was on it when he bought it 20 years ago, and he's never changed any of the electrical. (As a matter of fact, I'm building him a new harness right now) There's no hole in either fender on his "C" to indicate it might have been changed. Another fellow around the corner from him has a 51' "B" with the clear "beehive" style lamp. He bought his tractor new in 51' so I know that one's original too! The way it looks and folks I've been talking too, say around mid 1950 is when tail lights started changing on the "B",IB, & C models. Hope this helps you out & doesn't make things more confusing... By the way, what one do you have?
