You might have to print this to get a good look, but as to the bearings on the stearing shaft its self, there is a snap ring at both ends of the wormgear inside of the stearing box. These snap rings hold the ball bearing cups in place. If, and this is a big if, if the cups are not rusted and pitted you can buy the steel raceballs them selves at a hardware. I get them at ACE but others have them as well. If the gearbox set around with water in it for years you will need to find the complete bearings and might even have to have the wormgear reground where the raceballs run.
