D-17 Serial Numbers and 3-Point Adapters

Where is the Serial Number located on the D-17's.
Also, how good are the 3-point adapters on the Series I, II, and III.

The serial # is located on the upper left hand side of the torque tube housing. The numbers are stamped in and usually covered with paint, dirt, and rust. So you may have to do some scraping to read it. The 3point conversions by Saginaw County Tractor Parts are the best on the market and you'll will be very pleased with their performance. Thanks for the good info. How will these adapters do with a 3 point brushhog and 3 point bale spike for big bales? I realize a Series IV is a better choice but my funds are limited.

I am currently searching eastern Missouri for a good D-17.

I use a brush hog behind mine with no problems. It has sway bars so the mower doesn't wander. The Saginaw hitch has balls on the ends of the lift arms that rotate to a second set of holes that fit catagory 2 implements also. I don't know how much your round bales weigh, but I can't imagine that the hitch would be a problem. The front end of the tractor will most likely need some weight to hold it down.
