B Kill switch

Can anyone tell me how to wire in a kill switch on my 39-B that has no ignition? I haven't had this running since I brought it home a year ago and I think I stalled it back then.

I think you mean it has a magneto ignition. No battery, coil or distributor right? The magnito is at the front right side of the motor. about the center of the aluminum housing you will see a small threaded terminal about the size of pencil lead. If you short this terminal to the tractor frame the motor will stop, ignition shorted out (spark grounded).What you need is a toggle switch mounted by the steering column that has one side grounded to the frame and the other terminal on the switch connected to the small terminal on the magneto. You just need to remember which direction is Off and which is ON.

I had the same problem, and since I have a 9 year old that likes to drive the "B", I ran a wire from the magneto to a horn button that just fit just above the ammeter box, and grounded the other side. This shuts the tractor down, and I don't have to remember to turn the switch back on to crank.
