I have a 51-52 CA and I know nothing about tractors. I would like to find our what fluids are used in the various sections, such as:

tranny and hydraulics - I got some lubricant for this and it says it replaces Power Fluid 821.

Is this the right lubricant and does it go into the dip stick hole, in front of the seat on the left side. Or is that another fluid. To replace the seals, are there kits available, or do you have to figure out which part is leaking and hope to find the right seal.

Rear end - What is used and where is it filled?

Trike front end - What lubricant and where does it go.

Motor oil - what weight

I have a manual. however, it talks parts not fluids

we put 10w-30 oil in the motor.
we buy hydra- trans fluid at Wal Mart for the transmission-hydraulics-pto. 3 drain plugs on the bottom, one fill by left foot. the final drives are fiied thru the 1/2 inch pipe plug on the pan, we used 80-90wt. you have to remove the pan to drain it. you can put them back on with RTV as a gasket.

Does the Trike front end use 80-90W as well?

80-90wt is fine. Depending on where you live, if you want 140wt- o.k.

I live in NE Oklahoma. Would 140 not lubricate as well when cold? Probably 90 W is best.

The trans, differental , Hydrulics and Pto all use common fluid checked at dipstick you described on transmission housing. AC recomends 20W/20 non foming , I have had good luck with generic HyTran Fluid , AC's blend would be the powerfluid 821. Final drives check at plug on side of cover, 140 weight seals only come individually.If you have an operators manual all of this is covered.

Thanks for clearing up alot of info. I have a shop manual and of course it expects you to know something about tractors. Also, it gives some capacities, not all, however, it does not tell you what fluids, where they go, or how to get them there. I have a two wheel trike front end. What lubricant goes into that chamber?
