I bought a C motor as a basket case. Have been rebuilding and reassembling. Got to the head today and there is a sheetmetal "trough" piece that appears to set on the 4 rocker arm studs between the head and rocket arm towers. It dont fit very good, but the hole spacing is correct. It touches the valve springs and the push rods. I plan to leave it out because the other C and B engines i have dont have it. Just wondering, did this come from a C engine, or other allis engine?? The indentations on the sheetmetal match the 4 cast lugs where the rocker arm tower sets. But like i said, it is a little wide to fit between the springs and push rods.?????
