Replacing fluids on WC for the first time, what are the correct wts to use?

First thanks to all that help on my first postings on my WC. I want to drain out all motor and drive line fluids and want to be sure I am using the correct wieght and type fluids to refill. Still need to get a manual( as you can tell), just have not had time to do it. Any opinions on the I&T shop servive manuals that Central Tractor( wish they where staying in Iowa) or Orscheln farm & home carry? By the looks of it I will have a lot of postings over time as I am fixing the old girl bit by bit.

Like DanD said, I havn't found anything exactly like the black goo Allis used in the final drives. 80-140 gear oils will run right past the old cork seals and on the ground. New rubber type seals are availible at AGCO for around $55 a pair. I have been using a Lubriplate product called MAG in grade 00. It is a semi-fluid grease. It stays in the housing, and seems to be doing the job lubricating. We pulled a 2-14 plow last spring with it probably 30 hours or so and everthing seems to be OK.

I would recommend #30 oil for the engine unless you are using the tractor in the winter, then I'd probably use 10W-30 when it was cold. If the engine has not been rebuilt or used much for a few years and you're not putting a heavy load on the engine, some people recommend using non-detergent oil so that you don't release a lot of dirt out of the engine and end up plugging oil passages. I've never had a problem like that and have always used detergent oil. For the transmission and rear end, use normal heavy gear lube that you can get for the least price. Usually gear lube is 85W-90 or __-140. Fill the transmission and rear end up to the level of the filler plugs. The final drives originally called for transmission grease, but I've never seen it these days, so I just use the heaviest gear lube I can find for the final drives.
