I found some original AC pamphlets at an anitque flee market it said d17 gas had 63 engine hp 54.5 at the belt pulley and i think 46 at the drawbar. Diesel and lp were about 2-3 hp less

The gasoline engine D17 is a 226 ci The Gleaner E Uses the same basic engine with a different carb, govenor, and fuel pump. HP is about the same 46 hp depending on who you ask. If you put the combine engine in a WC, WD45, or D17 you will need to change the govenor and carb or it won't run correctly under a light load. The combine was designed to run wide open for hours at a time. I have put a Gleaner F 262ci six cylinder gas in a D17 that used to be a diesel. It was alot more work but it produced about 70hp! The D17 diesel tractor is stretched a few inches longer than the gas version so the bigger engine fit,
